The energy of this year is different.

We live in a finite, human world, and our glass ceiling leaves us stuck in the mundane. When we do something that aligns us with the Infinite’s will – boom, we smash through that ceiling.

Usually, Rosh Hashanah begins on a regular weekday. The whole world hangs in balance awaiting the shofar, which ushers in the new holy energy for the year.

But this year, it’s different. We begin in a higher frequency.

Shabbos is intrinsically holy. Every week, for one day, G-d gives us the gift of living in a naturally elevated state. This year, the new year enters alongside Shabbos, so the very first moments of the new year arrive already uplifted.

This year, before we have accomplished anything, we are shown who we truly are (holy, beautiful) and who we can show up as. Our goal isn’t to become someone else. It’s to bring that awesome, best version of ourselves into our every day life.

We don’t break through our limitations by acting spiritual. We smash through the ordinary by doing something that takes us far beyond our default selves through uniting with the will of the Extraordinary.

What is one mitzvah I can start in the new year that would push me above the limits I've placed on myself? What would the person I was on Rosh Hashanah do differently on an regular Tuesday?

PS. The mitzvah of Rosh Hashanah is to hear the shofar. We get the privilege to crown G-d as Ultimate King. The One who calls the shots.

This year, the first day is Shabbos, when we don’t blow any trumpets including the shofar. Please make sure to hear the shofar on Sunday, September 13th.

It's really important!
