Hi everyone,
We just spent an incredible Shabbos and week at the National Jewish Retreat in Miami. I watched a game show of Rabbis vs AI, learnt about artificial wombs and is a child born that way even Jewish?, in a 5-star hotel, amazing food, an awesome kids program (that we run!) It's the hebrew month of Elul, and the famous acronym for the hebrew letters of the world Elul is Ani L’Dodi V’Dodi Li or I am my beloved's and my beloved is mine.
In order to truly give yourself, you first have to know who you really are. Your true goodness, your G-dly soul, the real you. And also to recognize the things you’ve picked up along the way that may cause you to act in ways that aren’t really you, the coping mechanisms, the habits.
Elul is the month when G-d comes to meet us right where we are. He wants to meet us in our real life, in the field, in the dirt, in the things we’re still working through. Before we reunite with Him in the synagogue on the High Holidays, He comes out to us first. During the month Elul, “the King is in the field” G-d makes Himself accessible to every one of us, exactly where we are.

I too look forward to seeing you soon at the market, at a brunch club, or at our kickoff Mitzvah Kitchen on Labor Day weekend.
We’re looking for table leaders for the Service Day. The best way to spend a day off. If you’re in to be a table leader, just reply to this email with a 😊 and I’ll send you the details. In a world that’s changing faster than we can even grasp, one thing is real: doing something good for another person matters the most.
Wishing you a beautiful month of Elul and High Holiday season.
