We’re going to be okay.
I know this because this week, almost 100 students showed up to school early (before the sun was even up!) to hear the shofar, make a Sukkot craft, and say a blessing on fresh kosher bagels.
The future is bright, my friends.
The real question isn’t what’s the bigger threat; antisemitism or assimilation. It’s: are we proud? Are we joyful? Are we showing up, even before light, to celebrate how lucky we are to have mitzvot. To live with purpose. To fill the world with light.
It’s the new year this week. But really, in each moment, you are created anew. The limitations you carried yesterday or even a moment ago no longer exist. Right now, you can choose joy, speak patiently, give tzedakah, put on tefillin (even if you never have before, even if you don’t think you’re “that type of person.”)
Tuesday brings new energy for the year ahead. But until then, every breath G-d gives you is G-d saying: I believe in you. A vote of confidence that you can show up fully, right now.
Where will you be hearing the shofar?
The most important part of Rosh Hashanah is to hear the shofar live, a whole bunch of times (100 blasts to be exact).
We’ve got you covered.
3:30 PM outside the Kingsley Clubhouse we’ll blow the shofar, then toss last year’s mistakes to the fish in the lake.
Snacks + crafts too, so bring the kiddos!
